Always wanted to go to the Rosenberg Railroad Museum since I started to work in the area. Finally was able to go. I have been to a few museums in my life time but this museum is by far the best! Learned quite a few things about the railroad and the trains that I dis not know. Our tour guide was extremely friendly and was happy to answer any questions we had. Easily a hidden gem in Rosenberg.
Oh my! This is an excellent place for historical information and a link to the past before the time of computer and technological development. Train Transportation has come a long way, and I learned a lot from our visit, from the historical Canadian Prime Minister Coach to control/monitor room and the last caboose used before technology took over. It was an interesting exploration of the past to present.
A true gem of a place. This was a spur of the moment trip, well a 45 minute spur of the moment considering I live near downtown Houston. But I must say it was well worth the drive. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to this museum. Trains everywhere...Outside, inside, on working tracks etc. It’s not just for little kids either. The staff were very friendly and truly professional. I was impressed with how my guide dealt with undisciplined children with total patience and professionalism. He even took the time to conversate with me after the tour. This museum is a train lover’s dream. And this is coming from me, a 24 year aviation professional. Thanks for the memories. And see you again soon.
Went for a 3 year old Birthday party, and it was my 1st time there. Loved it. They had a nice party room, with lots of train toys and a platform for the little kids to walk up and see trains coming through the window. They had several different types of model trains. We had a private tour guide and party host, which did an amazing job, she was loud, helpful and very knowledgeable. And we were able to tour inside two restored trains.
Great for my 2 year old son who is infatuated with trains. Most importantly they have a room with two train tables and buckets of trains and tracks to play with.
There are also several model trains to see and other train memorabilia and artifacts. And, every once and a while a train runs by outside. My son would drop everything and run to the window. He's too short to see out of the window, but luckily they have a little landing and some stairs that put him just high enough to see the train run by. Absolutely exhilarating! At least for him.
I didn't really get to see the other exhibits, but I'd like to. I had to run him home for a nap. It was great for the morning activity that I needed it to be. Hope I get to see the rest next time.
The Rosenberg Railroad Museum's (RRM) railroad bell is a favorite of Museum patrons both young and old. Nestled up against three active train lines in downtown Historic Rosenberg, RRM is a hidden gem within city limits.
