Everything here is an unexpected surprise. The story trail, the week laid out walking paths, the excellent labeling on species. It all adds up to an excellent community resource and a great visit for those of us a little further away.
Huge place, love how they had trails intersecting into different sections. Was our first time, definitely want to go back in the Spring when plants are blooming.
It was a nice arboretum. We visited in August and only some hydrangeas were blooming. The 110 heat wave that came in late June must have burned some of the plants like ferns, pines, rhody, and others. Hopefully these plants come back next year. They are many connected trails and we went for a couple miles hike. Nice easy hike. Not too many people at 10am on a Sunday. We also walked some around the lake. Nice small lake with some picnic tables. Seem like you could rent a kayak or boat, but we didn't try this time.
Beautiful arboretum and park. There are several trailheads and parking areas with access to Lake Wilderness, the arboretum, and disc golf course. There are many interpretive signs about the history as well as solid trail map placement. There are beautiful gardens and plants. Also a nice little trail network in a lush forest. Many things to do at the small park.
Beautiful park for a short 20min or so stroll. There were some beautiful spring flowers in bloom and a nature story along one of the walking paths. The story ending was disappointing, we thought the duck and fox were going to be friends!
Overall a nice natural gem to get away from the noise of the city.
