We tried the stir fry eggplant and Al Pastor hash and egg. The eggplant with tofu is very similar to Sichuan Garlic egg plant taste without the spiciness. The sweet & sour taste compliments the rice nicely. The Al Pastor was kind of greasy to flavor the potatoes. It was good but little heavy for us. The raspberry with coconut was delicious. We will g back to try their sandwiches next time.
A hidden gem! Don’t mistake the sleepy colonial face or the trendy chic interiors as a sham: this place serves up tasty, well executed pastries, plates. Nice outdoor patio. Stopped over on a bike ride, perfect rest stop. Just make sure they’re open on your Monday ride back through.
The food here is really yummy. We were thrilled to bits that they had pimento cheese! Cute location, love the outdoor seating. For us, a big problem was that they are completely inflexible with any kinds of requests. We asked for a few slices of pickles, and they told us that they don't do that. They even called the manager over to confirm that they could not give us a slice of pickle. We're not talking a spear or a whole pickle, literally a slice. Then they remembered that one of us had asked for our food without pickles, so accommodated us for that exception. What is the problem here? Is it cost? If so, tell me what the charge is for the pickles! Happy to pay it. Another member of the party asked for something on the side and they wouldn't do it.
No better food in Kitsap.
It used to be a gas station/garage in the day. Food is reliably unique, fresh and slightly more affordable than other places with this awesome of a menu. Speaking of menu, grab the paper one as you walk in the door. Then order at the register. On a sunny weekend morning this place can be slammed busy. They do move fast for the volume, I have stayed and ordered when I was 14 people back. It moved surprisingly fast and with great smiles/attitude from the staff. Menu changes every couple of months. The bathroom is outside and up one stair. They do not accept tips here ...truly Euro style. Little interesting gifts for sale.
This place is phenomenal. Their seasonal eats are delicious, but their fried chicken sandwich continues to stand out and is a staple. Their baked goods are delicious and their cookies are always baked to perfection. A great stop to hang out a bit and enjoy this lovely town.
