North Beach Park is a signature part of Herron Island. With the playground for kids to have a blast on, to the beautiful beach with a northern view. The (Private) boat docks are also well maintained. There is a fire pit and a community center within the park. All in all just a beautiful park with fun for people of all ages.
It was awesome it was a beautiful day down at North Beach.
North Beach is the pride and joy of the Herron Island park system! The amazing shared dock is for residents and guests only - make sure you have a pass or sticker or face the consequences! There is a nice boat ramp here to launch your craft.. but don't park to the left of the sign! There is also a swim area marked off by a rope with a swim dock attached. But whatever you do, don't use a kayak in that area! The fire pit is a great place to gather and enjoy company... except when there's a burn ban! And don't forget to put your fire out! The large American flag honors Harold Elrod - a man dedicated to his home, country and friends. The Rose McGinn pavilion is used rain or shine for community events, just make sure you properly register with the office! There is a child's playset - use at your own risk! The kayak racks are for resident's kayaks to be stored, but you need an approved sticker! The three Honey Buckets are occasionally cleaned but can be nice and ripe on a warm summer day... and to use these, you need no special permission.
