(July 10, 2023, 12:03 am)Wow, that's incredibly exciting! A 3-mile trek with a hiking segment is absolutely amazing. The trails are diligently maintained, ensuring a pleasant experience, and the signboards are thoughtfully placed, providing clear guidance. Additionally, it's wonderful to hear that there's a spacious picnic and play area available. The presence of a railway passing through the park adds a unique charm to the surroundings. As the trail winds along the river, it must create a tranquil and picturesque atmosphere. And reaching the hill during the hiking portion to witness the awe-inspiring views of the surrounding area is simply breathtaking. Enjoy the adventure and soak in the beauty of the natural landscape!

(June 27, 2023, 12:47 pm)It was lovely! Going during a Tuesday morning, there wasn't a large crowd. The creek was decently clean water in the area. The clearings were prettyn the trees varried with ivy. Best of all, the trail looped around from the parking lot back to the parking lot.
Additionally, the picnic tables were many, there was a swing set, jungle gym, volleyball net, the restrooms, and there was plenty of parking!
Finally, there were so many frogs to find it was awesome! -

(May 29, 2023, 1:27 pm)We loved our first visit to Castlewood! The river scene trail was a lot of fun to hike, and we found a good remote spot to cast a couple lines. We saw some snakes and lots of fish. Overall it was a beautiful park and made me feel like I was back in Knoxville, Tn.

(September 6, 2021, 10:30 pm)Great state park. We went specifically to hike and take in nature on a beautiful day. They also have some pavilions, playground, canoeing, etc.
There are some steep cliffs so do take care with the little ones. We hiked with our 7 year old and while she did complain a little she finished like a champ.
