This is a great park for a drive-through. It's not a place to go and have a big family reunion. You do not feed the animals or even get close enough to touch them. There are a lot of great places to meditate in this park. Unfortunately, this is a park where you DO NOT bring your pets. It's very upsetting for the wildlife in this park to be exposed to our domesticated pets. Please leave them at home. ✌️
Lone Elk Park is a beautiful place to hike or just drive your car through to see the Bison or the elk they have picnic table to eat or just to enjoy a beautiful day . If you like hiking it's worth doing the white Bison trail you will definitely see a elk hiking and can take a picture if you want to .the trail is a 5 or 6 miles but worth it or worth the drive depending where you live .you can see the bison on your way out normally they seem to like to sit down from the hiking trail .
Great place to get away from the noise. Lots of wild animals.
We asked the ranger why it's called "The Lone Elk park" so when the state bought the land and put some fence, there was a single elk trapped inside (the lone elk) and they domesticated more elks from Yosemite and they just multiplied.
AMAZING!!!!!! FROM the hiking trail to the evening hours when all the deer, elk, bison were near the road...just a breathtaking experience!!! Park well kept, and marked, correctly at each point, absolutely worth the drive from any distance!!
Went for a fall foliage trip with family and friends. Very well maintained, accessible and great spots.
We spent a lot of time in the bird sanctuary - and started the Lone Elk drive around 4.30pm.. unfortunately we dint sight much elks or bisons. (I guess that’s late for them - so plan accordingly)
