Silver Queen Hotel

Great experience. Love the history and age of this place, 144 year old hotel.

Go up as often as we can as long as there's no snow. The female bartender that's there on Sundays is very nice. A lot of the shop owners/workers are that way. Really go out of their way.

Come here for the experience of going back in time to the Old West! Don’t be looking for current day amenities, as there is no wifi or A/C or a fancy spa and gym here. Oldest hotel in VA city and yes I can confirm it is very haunted. I stayed in room 19 and it had the best view looking down C street and the surrounding mountains. It was also a lot “brighter” in this room and I was able to view spectacular sunrises.

The Silver Queen Hotel is rich in history and paranormal lore. It's an old-fashioned hotel in historic downtown Virginia City that has been featured on Ghost Adventures three times. Guests check in at the bar, which has a good drink selection and friendly workers. There's a gorgeous chapel right off the main bar with a piano that can be played if a service isn't ongoing. The rooms are very basic; in keeping with the historic feel of the place, there are no TVs, phones, or air conditioning. There is a space heater and fans in every room. The rooms have been beautifully and authentically restored and the beds are very comfortable. If you're looking for a modern hotel or something that's familiar, I wouldn't recommend this place. But for people like me, who love engrossing themselves in history and unique experiences, the Silver Queen Hotel is an affordable and wonderful option!
