I love this park! I grew up nearby and I have been going to this park my whole life. I have been tent camping here 3 times in the last year and I already have reservations to come back. The campsites aren't the most private but each site has electricity and water. The bathrooms seem brand new, have real toilets and have heat and ac. The river is great for splashing around or just sitting in the water to get out of the heat. We recently visited the education center and even though they were about to close the volunteer was so friendly and welcoming. She even loaned us a backpack full of supplies to star watch. Getting a reservation can be tough but well worth it!

    Such an awesome park...

Very reasonably priced and so much tree coverage at the tent only walk in sites that I didn't even need a canopy.

I lucked out in every way possible... weather was perfect, my site had hammock trees, the sky was clear at night and puffy clouds during the day. All that and I was literally the only person camping in the area.

Bring a canopy for electric sites and the coverage isn't always there. Bring a wagon to haul your gear at the walk in sites.

The only negative was the fact the store didn't really have anything... maybe I didn't actually go to the right place though cause it seemed really odd that all they had was magnets and one variety of t-shirt.

I'll be back often once the weather stays under 90 degrees!

Awesome park with great trails and views. Fun place to swim and ride bikes as well. RV pads are getting a little worn but the pad sites are very unique with the natural rock and trees, just make sure you bring enough light to carefully traverse your site at night. Easily the nicest restrooms I've seen in a Texas park and they are air conditioned! I would recommend this place for a day visit and overnight.

This is one of my new favorites in Texas. The spots are plenty spacious and wooded with table, water, electric, fire ring, and tent pad. The river is within walking distance and there are several places to lounge in the sun or shade in or out of the water. There are some nice trails too. The restrooms/showers are some of the most updated and clean around We'll definitely be back

This campground is pretty awesome. Some sites are more secluded than others. There are a variety of trails, quite a few on the north side of the river. We discovered some hidden gem scenery areas on this trip. The park and river are pretty clean as well, which was something we found off putting at McKinney Falls. The day use area is also quite nice. While there was the occasional jet overflight, there was no external traffic noise, just the noise of cars entering the park. We went during the week, so there weren't a lot of people... Perfect for getting your Zen on.
