Well kept trails that are basically the park's backroads. If you enjoy cross country running or biking, this is an excellent place to trek. Most of the trails are clear with little obstructions.
Staff was super helpful and took the time to answer my questions about trails, conditions, swimming areas & restrooms.
Specific to Curry Creek Trail section: Pay close attention to the trail path. It was very difficult to follow due to the terrain. Take (or in my case make) a walking stick because some of the underbrush & leaves were difficult to see clearly.
Specific to Bauer Homestead site: There were tarps over the roof, a fence around the perimeter & overgrown plants that obscured views of the homestead.
All the trails have random benches for resting. Upon closer inspection, they were Eagle Scout projects from past years. I thought that was so cool!!
What I loved most about this park was the ability to trek up & down the river, find a cool spot & chill. Everyone visiting the park respected everyone's space and for me, it felt like a piece of peaceful paradise if even for only a few hours.
This is a dog friendly park. I know this because I was able to pet several dogs while visiting 😜.

Nice swimming hole and a nice trail that follows the river. Huge Cypress trees and lots of roots so watch your step. Saw only one snake. Cool learning center for kids. The overlook trail is not much of an overlook due to trees below. Well marked trails and our dog was tick free.

Restrooms are the best! Park is clean and the campsites have lots of shade. There is so much wildlife to see too. As long as there was a rainy spring, the river is nice and cool and flows just hard enough to be fun.

This State Park was absolutely stunning!! The biodiversity is incredible!! We were able to take a few trails that had beautiful scenery! There are tons of alligator gar so if you’re looking to get a good catch come prepared!! Unfortunately we were not ready for Gar! However we still did have a ton of fun fishing! We did not take our kayaks but I wish we had because the river is on the murkier side.

We recently visited Guadalupe River State Park and purchased a day pass, and I must say it was an incredible experience! The park is simply stunning, with crystal clear river water and towering cypress trees that provide plenty of shade on a hot Texas day.

There are so many activities available at the park, from swimming and fishing in the river to hiking and biking along the scenic trails. I particularly enjoyed floating down the river in a tube and soaking up the sun while surrounded by beautiful scenery but this time we just took the dog out to get some fresh air!

The park is also well-maintained and the staff is friendly and welcoming. I felt safe and comfortable throughout my visit, and I appreciated the effort the park makes to preserve the natural beauty of the area.

Overall, I highly recommend visiting Guadalupe River State Park and purchasing a day pass. With its stunning scenery, fun activities, and friendly staff, it's the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

With four miles of river frontage, the Guadalupe River takes center stage at the park. Step away from the river to find the more peaceful areas. On the river, you can swim, fish, tube and canoe. While on land, you can camp, hike, ride mountain bikes or horses, picnic, geocache, and bird watch. We loan fishing gear for use in the park.
